Job pricing / length and itemised extras

Gutter cleaning cost calculator

Start with the gutter runs included in the job. Add selected guard work and downspouts separately, apply your minimum, then check the charge against the costs you entered.

Your inputs / no market presets

Gutter pricing

All rates are yours to enter. Optional zero values mean “not included”, not verified business costs. Taxes are excluded.

Initial worksheet: GBP and metres. Units convert measurements and matching rates; currency changes formatting only, with no exchange-rate conversion.

Measured scope and customer charges

Add the included gutter runs once.

Enter your own rate. No market preset is supplied.

Applied to the base cleaning charge; 0 means none.

Applied after the height adjustment.

Applied after height and debris; no access safety advice.

Cannot exceed total length. Use zero for no guard work.

Choose one treatment; do not combine inspection and removal for the same work.

Whole number; only the agreed work.

Not a market or blockage-treatment preset.

A customer charge, separate from internal travel costs.

Selected customer scope only; internal costs belong below.

Applied after all customer extras.

Internal job costs and fee/margin comparison
Contractor cost assumptions

Job duration, not summed worker-hours.

Internal labour time for all included trips.

Enter time not already included in on-site time.

Whole number of people, including you if counted.

Your chosen labour cost; not a recommended wage.

Total consumables, vehicle, equipment and overhead allocations; avoid double counting.

Percentage of customer revenue, excluding taxes.

A fixed amount per job.

A comparison only; fee plus target must be below 100%.

Measure the runs you are actually pricing.

Add each included gutter run once. Use metres with a price per metre, or feet with a price per foot. Guard-work length is a subset of that total; it cannot exceed it.

Select one guard treatment and enter its rate. Downspout work is a separate count-based charge. The calculator does not decide whether a blockage, access condition or property can be worked on safely.

Follow the charge in its actual order.

Base cleaning = gutter length × your base rate. Height adds a percentage of base; debris adds a percentage of the height-adjusted cleaning amount; access adds a percentage of that updated cleaning amount.

Selected guard work, downspouts, customer travel and other customer extras are added afterwards. The minimum applies to that subtotal. Customer adjustments do not multiply these extras. Monetary adjustment rows are rounded to cents before being added.

Keep labour and overhead in the contractor view.

Internal labour uses included on-site, travel and setup hours × workers × your cost per worker-hour. Add the other job-cost total separately. Payment fees are calculated on the customer charge.

The target-margin comparison does not silently rewrite the customer charge. It is a separate check; unentered costs, taxes and uncertain scope still matter.

The fields remain available as a manual GBP/metres worksheet. Work through the formula and compare it with the fixed example below. Automatic calculation controls are shown only when the browser calculation enhancement loads.

You can use the same arithmetic in USD and feet on paper, provided every rate and measurement uses the matching unit. No currency exchange or local price recommendation is supplied.

Review the assumptions

A checklist for this page

  1. Confirm total length and guard subset.
  2. State the selected downspout work and any exclusions.
  3. Enter your own rates and actual cost assumptions.
  4. Review uncertain scope before issuing your own quote.

Gutter pricing: questions

Do you supply a recommended gutter rate?

No. The live rate field starts empty. The £3/m figure appears only in a labelled arithmetic example.

Are guards multiplied by height and debris?

No. In model 1.0.0 the selected guard charge is added after the cleaning adjustments, together with downspouts and other customer extras.

Can I enter more guard length than gutter length?

No. That would contradict the defined scope, and the browser calculation rejects it.

Is the estimate a cleaning quote from WashTally?

No. WashTally publishes tools; any firm quote is your own decision after reviewing the job.
